Q.Do I need to register as a buyer to bid at an Auction?
A.Yes. In order to buy from our Auction, you will be required to register as a buyer. Registration is free. Proof of identity is required E.G. Drivers License
Q.How often are the auctions held?
A.Building Materials - Every Monday 10am
Home Improvements - Every Saturday 10am
Tiles- Every Saturday 9.30am
Q.When Can I View Products?
A.Products for the Timber & Building Materials Auction are available for viewing Monday to Friday 8am to 4pm and Saturday between 9.30am to 2.30pm.
Products for the Home Improvement Auction & Tile Auctions are available for viewing Monday to Friday 8am to 4pm and Saturday 9am to 3pm.
Q.What is Buyers Premium?
A.Buyers Premium is a charge of 15% that is added to the knock down price of every lot sold.
For example if you bid on an item for $100 the amount payable will be $115.00.
Q.Do I have to pay GST on top of my bid price?
A.No. All Auctions at Laws are GST inclusive.
Q.Is Transport Available?
A.Yes. We have provided a list of reliable carriers for your convenience on our services page. Alternativley you may arrange your own carrier.
Q.Can I buy before the Auction?
A.To keep our auctions fair for all our customers, we do not sell prior to Auction. All goods must firstly go under the hammer in order to ensure that everyone is given the same opportunity to purchase. Generally unsold goods may be purchased on the day after the Auction.
Q. Can I Absentee Bid
A. Absentee Bidding is available for all our Auctions. Bids need to be placed prior to the commencent of the relevant auction. You will be given a Bidders Number to quote after the auction to see if your bid was successful.
Warranty
Q.Do the electrical items have a warranty?
A.Most electrical items offered in our Home Improvements Auction carry a manufacturers parts and labour warranty. Please check the warranty details in the description of goods found in our catalogue. Catalogues can be viewed and printed simply click on the catalogues button at the top of this page.
Payments
Q.How can I pay for my goods?
A.Payment can be made by Cash, Bank Cheque, Direct Deposit or Eftpos we also accept Visa and Mastercard.
Personal Cheques & Business Cheques are not accepted. Please note credit card payments are not accepted over the phone and must be made in person.
Q.How long do I have to pay for my purchases?
A.All goods must be paid and collected within the specified times.
Timber & Building Materials - Must be finalised by 4 pm Wednesday.
Home Improvement & Tiles (SAT) - Must be finalised by 12pm Monday.
Pick up times
Q.How soon can I pick up my goods?
A.Most goods can be collected within 1 hour of purchase. However some larger goods may require the use of a forklift & short delays could occur. Pick up times do vary for each auction. You should make further enquiries when registering.
Q.How long can I leave my goods on site?
A.Here at Laws we hold Auctions on a weekly basis. Therefore it is necessary for us to have all purchases removed from our premesis within the specified time to enable us to prepare for the next Auction.
